A little about me

My name is Nurit Weiss Levy, a mother of two, a "music girl" at heart

Coordinates courses in 'Deat-Shivol Amanoyot', music teacher for preschoolers, creates, develops and leads the course "Playing the telephone" at the college.

I grew up in a house where a lot of music of all kinds was played, with a musicologist father thanks to whom I sang in classical and modern professional choirs, I learned to play the piano for 12 years at a conservatory and I graduated in music.

After the army, I changed my direction and did a bachelor's degree ((BA) and a master's degree (MBA) in human resources, and I did that for quite a few years.

During these years I continued to perform and sing in Israel and around the world, playing and writing songs for fun.

In 2013 I decided to engage in music and "College of Thought" headed by Vared Carmel opened the door for me to the world of music for preschoolers and since then I have been a music teacher for preschoolers, a song creator and instructor at the college.

A little about my method

From my experience as a kindergarten teacher (mainly with ages 0-3) I found that the telephone really "touches" the children,

That's why I developed the "playing teacher" method that allows anyone who educates preschool children

Play even without prior musical knowledge.

The colors of the metallophone mark the sounds like notes and the songs I write are aimed at simple tapping by colors.

Why did I choose a telephone?

Apparently the telephone chose me....:)

I fell in love with the metallophone as a child in the rhythmic classes, I still remember the experience to this day.

When I started teaching children I discovered that its sounds and colors are like magic.

I found that its pleasant bell sounds immediately make the children look at me, listen calmly and even the crying stops.

Its colorfulness attracts the children's attention, emphasizes to them that there is a difference between the sounds (of course it is also used to learn the colors), through it the children are exposed to the "base" of music which is the scale of sounds and learn musical concepts in an experiential way, which will help them in the future to learn to play on their own.

Important things... just before we start

Here is a basic course for learning to play the melophone, each chapter of the course focuses on a recitation/song that I wrote especially for learning about this wonderful instrument.

In the follow-up courses, I will learn more songs, with which we will "dive" deeper musically and expand the topics studied in accordance with the annual program taught in kindergarten

  1. Attached to the course is an explanatory booklet that comes as a help and support for the course on the website, I recommend that you follow each lesson in the booklet as well, marking important things or ideas that occurred to you while watching
  2. A warm recommendation, if you work with children or have children at home, after each lesson try to apply what you learned to them because with the help of experience things will become clearer and remain deep in your memory and you can pull them out and use them at any time
  3. The telephon we use in Israel is built according to the colors on the telephon I play on in the lessons,

There is no need to purchase a large and collapsible metalphone like mine, although its sounds are stronger and you can take out and play each note separately, but it is heavy and cumbersome and less suitable for working with babies and toddlers who are attracted to it and come close to it and it may fall apart

  1. Before you sit down and start learning, I recommend purchasing the metallophone in the picture (with a frame around/or without, the frame adds durability and the instrument is more protected and less sharp, but both are equally good for you as a player), Note that the colors match the metal phone in the picture

You can get the metalophone in musical instrument stores and stores that sell equipment for kindergartens and online

That's it, now that everything is ready, you can start…..good luck!
